Smoking Cessation

The pharmacy is still the heart of our business.

Quitting smoking reduces your risk of smoking-related illness and increases your life expectancy, no matter how old you are when you quit.

How can our pharmacists help?

During your consultation with a London Drugs Pharmacist, they will:

  • Work with you to develop personalized quit plan to help you stop smoking.

  • Discuss practical tips and advice to reduce/quit tobacco.

  • Prescribe or recommend smoking cessation prescription medications or nicotine replacement products like patches, gum, lozenges, inhalers, or spray. For more information on pharmacist prescribing services visit Pharmacist Prescribing Services - London Drugs Pharmacy

  • Schedule follow up appointments if requested, to support you during your journey.

Residents in BC with a valid BC Services Card are eligible for the BC Smoking Cessation Program. This includes 12 weeks of continuous prescription or nicotine replacement products per calendar year. Ask your pharmacist for details or visit Get help quitting tobacco - Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca)

Residents of Alberta may be eligible for the AlbertaQuits program which includes support, products, and medications. For more details ask your pharmacist or visit AlbertaQuits (healthiertogether.ca)

Certified Tobacco Educators

Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE) Pharmacists are available at select locations. These pharmacists have obtained additional certification to specialize in helping people quit all forms of tobacco use. They can be particularly helpful if you require additional support or have had multiple quit attempts. Ask your local London Drugs to see if this service is available in your area.
